Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information RideAssist ("we", "us", "the app") collects from drivers who use the app, why we collect it, and how it's handled. By using RideAssist, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
Account information
When your account is created, we store your login email, your subscription/access status (plan and expiry), and basic device identifiers used to enforce our one-account, one-active-device policy.
Ride and usage data (via Accessibility Service)
RideAssist uses Android's Accessibility Service to read on-screen content from supported ride-hailing driver apps (currently Ola and Rapido) only to detect ride-offer details — fare, distance, and pickup/drop information — so it can apply your accept/decline rules. RideAssist does not read, log, or transmit content from any other app on your device, and does not read your personal messages, contacts, or other unrelated on-screen content. Detected ride details are stored in your ride history so you can review them later.
Location data
With your permission, RideAssist may access device location to support ride detection and, for fleet-managed accounts, driver tracking requested by the fleet operator.
Device and diagnostic data
We collect basic device information (model, Android version) and crash/diagnostic logs to help us fix bugs and keep the automatic detection working reliably as ride-hailing apps update their own screens.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Razorpay. RideAssist never sees or stores your card, UPI, or bank details — those are handled entirely by Razorpay's own secure systems. We only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, which we use to activate your access.
How we use this information
- To operate the automatic ride accept/decline feature you've configured
- To maintain your ride history and account/subscription status
- To activate access automatically after a successful payment
- To diagnose and fix bugs in ride detection
- To enforce the single-active-device policy on individual driver accounts
Third-party services we rely on
RideAssist is built on top of a small number of infrastructure providers, each of whom processes data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms:
- Razorpay — payment processing
- Supabase — account authentication and app data storage
- Google Firebase — realtime device status and (for fleet accounts only) remote session features
We do not sell your data to anyone, and we do not use it for advertising.
Data retention
We keep ride history and account data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward for support and record-keeping purposes. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time — see Contact below.
Data security
Account and ride data is protected with row-level access controls so that only you (and, for fleet accounts, your fleet's administrator) can see your own data. Payment details are never handled or stored by RideAssist directly.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account entirely by contacting us using the details below.
Children's privacy
RideAssist is intended for licensed drivers and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date at the top of this page.
